Penile Thrush

Thrush in men is a common fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of yeast called Candida. It can affect the penis and surrounding skin, causing redness, itching, soreness, swelling, or a white discharge.

Some men may also experience discomfort during urination or sex. Thrush is more likely to occur in people with diabetes, poor hygiene, weakened immunity, or after taking antibiotics.

It can sometimes be passed during sexual contact, although it is not always considered a sexually transmitted infection. Treatment usually includes antifungal creams or tablets, good hygiene, and keeping the area clean and dry to prevent recurrence.
