Vitamin B12 Test

A single vitamin B12 test, useful where tiredness, pins and needles or a restricted diet suggest levels may be low. The result is explained by our pharmacist.

Vitamin B12 Test

Vitamin B12 is needed for healthy red blood cells and nerve function. Low levels cause tiredness, weakness, pins and needles, and in time can affect memory and balance.

Deficiency is more common in people following a vegan or vegetarian diet, adults over 60, and anyone taking metformin or long-term acid-reducing medicines.

If your level is low we can discuss the options, including B12 injections, which we provide here at the pharmacy. Where deficiency points to an underlying cause we will refer you on.
