DTP Vaccination

The DTP vaccine protects against three separate infections: diphtheria, tetanus and polio. It is given as a single combined injection and is usually effective for around ten years.

Most adults in the UK were vaccinated as children, but protection fades over time. A booster is commonly recommended before travel, particularly to areas where medical care is harder to reach, or after an injury where tetanus is a risk.
