24 Hour BP Monitoring

A single blood pressure reading doesn't always give the full picture. Book a face-to-face consultation for 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) to obtain a more accurate assessment of your blood pressure throughout your normal daily activities and while you sleep. During your appointment, one of our qualified healthcare professionals will fit a small portable blood pressure monitor that automatically records your blood pressure at regular intervals over a 24-hour period. Once you return the monitor, we'll analyse your results, explain what they mean and provide personalised advice or referral where appropriate. ABPM is considered the gold standard for diagnosing high blood pressure and can help identify conditions such as white coat hypertension, masked hypertension and nocturnal hypertension.

ABPM service

24 Hour BP Monitoring

At our pharmacy, we offer 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) to provide a more accurate assessment of your blood pressure throughout the day and night. A small portable monitor is worn for 24 hours and automatically records your blood pressure at regular intervals while you continue your normal daily activities.

ABPM can help diagnose high blood pressure, identify white coat hypertension, and monitor how well blood pressure treatment is working. Our trained team will explain the process, fit the monitor comfortably, and review your results with you. Visit our pharmacy for professional and convenient 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

A small monitor is fitted at the pharmacy and worn for 24 hours. It takes readings automatically while you go about your normal day and while you sleep.
Yes, that is the point of it. Keep to your usual routine so the readings reflect real life rather than a one-off measurement here.
It shows how your blood pressure behaves over a full day and night, which picks up white coat hypertension and readings that only rise at night.
Once you return the monitor we analyse the readings and go through what they mean with you, referring you on if needed.
