Cholera Vaccination

Cholera is spread through contaminated food and water and causes severe diarrhoea and dehydration. The risk to most travellers is low, since it is associated with poor sanitation and disrupted water supplies.

It is usually recommended for aid workers, people travelling to areas affected by outbreaks or natural disasters, and travellers with certain medical conditions. The vaccine is given as a drink rather than an injection.
