Diabetes Test (HbA1c)

An HbA1c test showing your average blood sugar over the past two to three months. No fasting needed, and the result is explained by our pharmacist.

Diabetes Test (HbA1c)

HbA1c measures how much sugar has attached to your red blood cells, which gives an average of your blood glucose over the previous two to three months rather than a single moment.

It is the standard test for diagnosing type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, and for monitoring control in people already diagnosed. You do not need to fast beforehand.

We will explain where your result sits, what it means for your risk, and what to do next. Where the result suggests diabetes or prediabetes we will refer you to your GP with the figures.
