Meningitis ACWY Vaccination

Meningococcal disease can cause meningitis and blood poisoning and progresses very quickly. The ACWY vaccine protects against four of the main groups.

It is a requirement for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, who must show proof of vaccination, and is recommended for travel to the meningitis belt of sub-Saharan Africa, particularly during the dry season.
