Allergy blood testing measures specific IgE antibodies against individual allergens. Panels are grouped by type, covering common foods, pollens, house dust mite, animal dander and moulds.
It is an alternative to skin prick testing and can be done while taking antihistamines, which is useful if stopping them is difficult. Our pharmacist will help you pick the panel that matches your symptoms.
A positive result shows sensitisation rather than proving an allergy on its own, so we will interpret it alongside your history. Where the picture suggests a significant allergy we will refer you to an allergy specialist.
