Eumovate is a moderately potent steroid cream used to calm the redness, itching and swelling of eczema, dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions. It sits between mild hydrocortisone and the stronger steroids in strength.

Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice a day for as long as our pharmacist advises, usually a short course rather than continuous use. Keep using your emollient alongside it, since moisturising is the foundation of eczema care. Avoid the face unless you have been told otherwise, and tell us if the skin becomes weepy or crusted, which can mean infection.
