Hepatitis B is a liver infection spread through blood and bodily fluids, including through medical or dental treatment abroad, tattoos and piercings, and unprotected sex.

The vaccine is given as a course of three doses. Where you are travelling at short notice, an accelerated schedule can often be used so the course is completed before you go.
